Bloober Team isn’t leaving the Cronos franchise behind. The Polish studio behind Silent Hill 2 Remake has confirmed plans to develop the IP well beyond Cronos: The New Dawn, even as it juggles five projects, including a full remake of Silent Hill 1.

Just weeks after Cronos: The New Dawn hit shelves, Bloober Team made it clear: the Cronos franchise isn’t a one-and-done. In a recent investor Q&A, the studio said it aims to expand the series in “many areas of exploitation,” while the original development team pivots to an unannounced project.

Resident Evil Requiem directors confirm that the hooded figure is not a returning character but an all-new addition to the storyline.

Right now, Bloober is juggling five different games. That includes:

Even though Cronos isn’t the lead focus anymore, the studio’s ambitions for it haven’t cooled off.

So far, there’s no DLC in the pipeline. Still, Bloober hasn’t ruled it out. Speculation hints at sequels, a possible TV or film adaptation, and other offshoots. While vague, their comments suggest they’re playing the long game with the Cronos franchise.

Cronos: The New Dawn moved over 200,000 units within its first three days. That’s solid, not spectacular. According to CEO Piotr Babieno, it needs to hit 1 million sales to break even. Yet, he emphasized the momentum is “decent,” not disappointing.

No one’s mistaking Cronos for Silent Hill 2 Remake. Even so, the Linux-native horror title blends brutal combat, environmental storytelling, and eerie Xbox 360-era mechanics that strike a nostalgic nerve. The Cronos franchise might not be a breakout hit, but it’s not dead yet.
